What is FreeTools?

FreeTools is a small collection of online utilities for developers, writers, and anyone who works with text and data: a JSON formatter, a Base64 encoder, a password generator, a timestamp converter, and friends. Every tool is free, works instantly, and asks for nothing — no account, no email, no "start your free trial."

Why does this exist?

Because the author kept needing the same five tools and kept landing on pages buried under popups, "download our app" banners, and sign-up walls — just to convert a timestamp. So the idea was simple: build the tools properly once, make them fast, make them work offline once loaded, and never ask the user for anything in return.

There's also a privacy angle. A lot of online tools upload your input to a server for processing. That means whatever you paste — an API key, a chunk of customer data, a draft — passes through someone else's machine. Our tools do everything in JavaScript inside your browser, so your data never leaves your device. You don't have to take our word for it; the network tab in your browser's developer tools will confirm it.

How it's built

The site is deliberately boring technology: plain HTML, CSS, and vanilla JavaScript. No frameworks, no build step, no tracking scripts, no external dependencies. That keeps pages tiny (most load in well under 100 KB), fast on slow connections, and working even when you're offline after the first load. Each tool page is self-contained, and the whole site is served as static files.

FreeTools 是什么？

FreeTools 是一个面向开发者、写作者和所有跟文本数据打交道的人的小工具集合：JSON 格式化、Base64 编解码、密码生成、时间戳转换等等。每个工具都免费、打开即用、不索取任何东西——没有账号、没有邮箱、没有"开始免费试用"。

为什么做这个？

因为作者自己老是需要那几个工具，却总落到满屏弹窗、"下载我们的 App"横幅和注册墙的页面上——就为了转个时间戳。于是想法很简单：把工具一次性做好，做快，加载一次后离线也能用，并且永远不向用户索取任何东西。

还有隐私方面的考虑。很多在线工具会把你的输入上传到服务器处理，这意味着你粘贴的任何东西——API 密钥、一段客户数据、一篇草稿——都会经过别人的机器。我们的工具全部在浏览器里的 JavaScript 完成，你的数据从不离开你的设备。不用信我们的一面之词，浏览器开发者工具的网络面板可以作证。

技术实现

本站刻意用了"无聊"的技术：纯 HTML、CSS 和原生 JavaScript。没有框架、没有构建步骤、没有追踪脚本、没有外部依赖。这让页面很小（大多远不到 100 KB）、在慢网络下也快，首次加载后离线也能用。每个工具页都是自包含的，整个网站以静态文件提供服务。
