The short version
We built this site so you don't have to trust us with your data. Every tool on FreeTools runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. When you paste JSON into the formatter or type a password into the generator, that text never leaves your device — it isn't uploaded, stored, or logged by us. There are no accounts, no sign-ups, and no database of your inputs sitting on our server.
What we don't collect
- Your tool inputs. Text you paste, passwords you generate, files you process — none of it is sent to our servers. Open your browser's network tab while using any tool and you'll see: zero requests carrying your data.
- Accounts or identities. We don't ask for your name, email, or any login. There's nothing to leak because there's nothing to store.
What we do collect (the boring infrastructure stuff)
Like almost every website, our web server keeps standard access logs for each visit: your IP address, the page you requested, the time, your browser type, and the referring page. We use these logs only to keep the server running, spot abuse, and understand rough traffic levels. Logs are rotated automatically and aren't sold, shared, or used to profile anyone.
Cookies, analytics, and advertising
Right now, this site sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics scripts. If that changes, this page will be updated first.
We plan to use Google AdSense to display ads and possibly Google Analytics to understand traffic. When enabled, Google may set cookies (including advertising cookies) and collect usage data such as your device type, browser, and approximate location. This is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and Google's advertising policies. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings or via aboutads.info.
Third-party links
Our blog articles sometimes link to external sites (documentation, standards, Wikipedia). We don't control those sites; their privacy practices are their own.
Children
FreeTools is a general-audience utility site. We don't knowingly collect information from children, mainly because we don't collect information from anyone.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the site handles data — for example, by adding analytics — we'll update the "Last updated" date above and describe the change here. The current version always lives at this URL.
